January Resistance Comedy Line Up
Here's a run down of January 17th's Resistance Comedy line up, in a bit more detail:
- Jerry Bakewell
(Britain’s most unsuccessful Mexican wrestler)
Weighing in at 17-and-a-half stone, Jerry Bakewell is Britain's most unsuccessful Mexican wrestler and Europe's heaviest light entertainer. Winner of the 1993 Les Dennis Bravery Award, Jerry was recently described as a laugh every other minute, following a one-and-a-half minute set.
- Kelsey De Almeida
Rising star Kelsey has already supported Stephen K Amos, Abandoman and Dave Gorman in his relativity short time on the comedy circuit. Kelsey won the Southend Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer Competition 2017 (Final hosted by Russell Kane) and has appeared on BBC Radio 4 Extra.

- Fiona Allen
(TV Comedy Star /Actress, from Hit Channel 4 Show "Smack The Pony")
Fiona has appeared in many sketch shows, including We Know Where You Live (Channel 5), Smack the Pony (Channel 4), Goodness Gracious Me (BBC) and The All Star Comedy Show. She has also appeared in many television dramas including Dalziel and Pascoe and Coronation Street (ITV), as well as the sitcom Happiness alongside Paul Whitehouse. Subsequently she appeared as Sandra, in the film version of the Viz comic strip The Fat Slags, and as a panelist on Mock the Week.
Fiona also appeared in the first episode of the second series of the E4 teenage drama Skins, playing Maxxie's mum Jackie Oliver. She also appears in BBC drama Waterloo Road as Georgia Stevenson. More recently Fiona can been seen on Eastenders (BBC), playing Villian Leo King's mother Michaela Turnbul.

Stand up comedian and comic actor as seen on Channel 4's The Last Leg,It's Titchmarsh,BBC Breakfast, The One Show and the 5 star Tinder Rehab Camden Fringe show. Recently Bently appeared on ITV's Take Me Out telling jokes!

Simon is a comedian, writer and podcaster who has got to the final of 5 national comedy competitions, has done 2 Edinburgh Fringe solo shows and hates to write about himself in third person.
He has opened for Trevor Lock, Ben Miller and Henry Ginsberg as well as gigged on the same bill as people like Terry Alderton, Mark Dolan, Matthew Crosby and Bec Hill. To date he has done over 1,700 gig, since he started doing comedy gigs in 2011.
